What does a Christmas party cost per person in Canberra?

Christmas function packages at Hotel Realm start at $45 per person for a one-hour canapé event and $99 per person for a two-course seated menu. The three-hour canapé package, which includes a substantial canapé and a live dessert station, is $80 per person. A three-course seated package is $119 per person and includes warm bread rolls with Pepe Saya butter. Beverages are charged separately, and there is no venue hire fee, though a minimum spend applies.

Where can I hold a work Christmas party for 200 people in Canberra?

Hotel Realm in Barton hosts work Christmas parties for 200 guests in National Ballroom 2 or 3 (225sqm each, seating 160 banquet or 250 cocktail), or in National Ballroom 1 & 2 or 3 & 4 (345sqm, 240 banquet or 400 cocktail) if you want a dance floor and staging as well. For 200 guests seated, the 345sqm configuration is the usual recommendation. There is no venue hire fee, attendees receive 15% off accommodation, and a parquetry dance floor can be added.

Is there a venue hire fee?

No. Hotel Realm does not charge a venue hire fee for Christmas functions – a minimum spend applies instead, based on the space and the date. Included at no extra cost: complimentary Wi-Fi for all guests, digital signage for table plans, use of the pre-function area for pre-dinner drinks and photos, an events concierge, unlimited sparkling water and cloaking facilities. Charged separately: the parquetry dance floor, staging beyond three pieces, and AV requirements outside the in-room systems.

Can guests stay overnight after the Christmas party?

Yes. Attendees at a Hotel Realm Christmas function receive 15% off accommodation rates, subject to availability, and can book directly into the hotel above the function space. Room types range from the Realm Room through to two-bedroom suites and the Lower and Upper House Penthouses. This is a common arrangement for events with interstate guests or where the party runs late.

What is the minimum spend?

The minimum spend for a Christmas event starts from $2,000 and varies by space, date and time. We have a range of spaces to accommodate a variety of events such as the High Courtyards and National Ballroom and minimum spends typically increase on peak days such as Friday or Saturday. The sales team will confirm the exact minimum spend for your chosen date.

Can you cater for dietary requirements?

Yes. Hotel Realm’s kitchen caters for dietary requirements across all Christmas packages, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, halal and allergy-related needs. The canapé and seated menus already include vegetarian options – truffle mushroom arancini, baby cucumbers with hazelnut romesco, eggplant tartlet, gnocchi with goats cheese, and the kumara and provolone ravioli.

When do we need to confirm final numbers?

Final guest numbers and menu selections must be confirmed 14 days before the event. A deposit secures your booking and the balance is due 14 days prior. Guest numbers can be increased after confirmation, subject to availability.
